Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 1, 2025
1. Information We Collect
Scam Sentinel collects and processes limited data necessary to operate the service:
- Identifiers: Discord user IDs, server (guild) IDs, and similar identifiers provided by Discord.
- Activity metadata: Voice channel join/leave events, timestamps, and context (e.g. channel IDs); text and image content only when processed for moderation (e.g. to detect policy violations). Such content may be sent to automated systems, including third-party analysis services, for the purpose of moderation and safety.
- Behavior and risk data: Flags, risk scores, and patterns generated by our systems (and such third-party systems) to support detection and logging.
- Configuration and usage: Server settings, feature usage, and aggregate usage metrics (e.g. message counts, token usage) for billing, limits, and service improvement.
- Support and feedback: Information you or your staff submit (e.g. via commands or the dashboard), including optional feedback on moderation decisions, which may include excerpts of content for training and improving the service.
We do not record or store voice audio. We do not collect your Discord password. We do not sell your personal data.
2. How We Use the Data
- To provide real-time moderation, scam detection, and alerts.
- To flag potential threats and maintain safety across servers using the bot.
- To operate the dashboard, billing, and support (including third-party payment processing).
- To improve the service (e.g. refining detection and handling feedback).
- Data is not shared with third parties for their marketing. It may be shared only as needed with service providers (e.g. hosting, payment processing, and analysis APIs) under agreements that limit use to providing our service.
3. Data Retention
- General metadata may be retained for a limited period (e.g. on the order of days to weeks) unless it is linked to an incident or investigation.
- Flagged data, incident records, scammer lists, and feedback/training data may be retained longer to protect the network, support investigations, and improve the service.
- Server owners may request deletion of data pertaining to their server; we will honor such requests where feasible and consistent with legal and safety obligations.
4. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including access controls and, where applicable, encryption) to protect data we process and store. Access to internal systems is limited to authorized personnel as needed to operate and support the service.
5. Your Rights and Contact
You may contact us to:
- Request a copy of data we hold about your server or your Discord user ID, to the extent we can identify it.
- Request deletion of stored data relating to your server or account, subject to legal and operational constraints.
- Report privacy concerns or violations.
